The Banking Standards Board (BSB) and Centre for Ethics and Law at University College London (UCL) are hosting a seminar exploring how the relationship between non-executive directors and general counsel can contribute to good governance in banks.

Sir David Walker, chairman, Winton (formerly chairman, Barclays), Sir Douglas Flint, HM Treasury Special Adviser to China’s Belt and Road Initiative (formerly Group chairman, HSBC and NED BP plc), and Bridget Rosewell, chairman, Atom Bank, will share their experiences on the nature and importance of relationships between boards and general counseland where there may be specific issues that need to be addressed. Dame Colette Bowe, chairman of the BSB, will chair the discussion and make introductory remarks. Attendees will also hear from UCL Professor Richard Moorhead, whose research questions the strength of this relationship.
